Filming the Yukon

I just returned from a wonderful, amazing trip to Whitehorse and Dawson City Yukon.

I have never been to a Territory before and didn’t really know what to expect, but boy was I amazed.  Everything was so beautiful, especially the people!  Everyone was so kind and generous with their time, and really made me feel welcome in both Dawson and Whitehorse.

In Whitehorse Firehall Films presented a collection of my films on the 8th of April and I conducted a Masterclass on the 11th.

In between these two gigs I was up in Dawson (six hours North of Whitehorse, two hours South of the arctic circle).  I taught a Masterclass, presented The Last Moment at the Dawson City International Short Film Festival and sat on the Jury for emerging Yukon filmmaker.

In addition to all of this I shot 12 rolls of film on my Bolex and am so very excited to see the results.   I hope to compete the film and screen it up in Dawson next year, allowing me to return to this winter wonderland.

Thanks to Natalie Edelson for the pics!

Oh yeah and I also did a shot of Jack that had a human toe in it.
