DEFIL IN VEIL
Synopsis
Using the venerable flickering image of cinema’s past, Dawson has created his latest surrealist film, a beautifully poetic experience in which a young, virginal, woman is confronted with a multitude of metaphoric atrocious of our vaguely familiar, unkind and disparate world.
NOTES:
Original production for Defile in Veil began in the fall of 1998. The film was shot one day a year for five years in three different locations, until completed in late 2003. As A film that spanned Dawson’s early career, it is fitting that Defile in Veil closes out Dawson’s early interest in silent cinema, and the portion of his filmmography best described as “Early Work.”
The Film features the amazingly talented Contemporary Dance Artist Deborah Axelrod in the lead role.
